GULLS

 Gulls aflight

following the river`s drift,

stopping at the garbage dump

for sustenance.

Dirty Birds!!!

you think and shudder-

But ocean liners

wonder at their persistent beauty.

Love it. I'm with the ocean liner. Every time I've walked near the ocean and seen those Gulls I've been fascinated with them: probably because they can fly - and I can't. {{{{Vince}}}}  *Barb*

i love the poem.  however, not too crazy about sea gulls when they are flying.  and it's absolutely true that they are always near the trash dumps! -=)

i suspect that seagulls have been around as long as cocka-roaches...

they are almost as hardy and adaptable.

but i could be wrong...

great poem vince!

Whenever I see or read of seagulls I always think of Hitchcock's The Birds!
